Matt VanderFeltz, Council Member
When did you come to know Christ?
I accepted Jesus Christ during the time I served in the U.S. Army in October 2000.  Two men were very influential.  I accepted Christ at a Promise Keepers event.  My walk with Christ since that day has been transformational for me personally and for my family.
What was your first job?
I was born and raised on a dairy farm, so all I knew and understood in my circle of life as a young man was farming and milking cows.  After successfully graduating from a local college in Jefferson City, MO I served for our country in the U.S. Army for 21 years.
What is your favorite verse?
My favorite verse changes often. I embrace this verse every day: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 12:8
What do you love most about NorthWest Community Church?
NWCC is a fabric of people that come from all various experiences in life.  Within that fabric, Jesus is the thread that keeps NWCC knitted in strength.  NWCC is God’s church, we are accepting people with no judgment and it's a place where the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is being taught in a simple day to day life application. That’s why I love NWCC.
How do you spend your days off?
I’m all about family.  As my wife and I celebrate our over 22 years of marriage and our kids grow in a Christ centered home we pour our unconditional love into our children.  I do love ministering with those who served in the Armed Forces and during the salmon season I really enjoy experiencing God’s creation and fishing in the WA Rivers.
